Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BisaDoc platform, including the website at bisadoc.com and the BisaDoc mobile application (collectively, "the Platform"). By creating an account or using BisaDoc, you agree to these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully. They contain important information about your rights and responsibilities, the nature of BisaDoc's services, and limitations on our liability.

1. About BisaDoc

BisaDoc provides:

• An AI-powered symptom checker that assesses urgency and suggests the appropriate type of specialist (this is triage guidance, not medical diagnosis)
• A directory of verified doctors and hospitals in Ghana
• An appointment booking system connecting patients to healthcare professionals
• A patient medical records management system (patient-controlled)
• Video consultation functionality connecting patients and doctors
• A platform for doctors to issue electronic prescriptions

BisaDoc does not employ the doctors on the platform. Doctors are independent healthcare professionals who have registered to offer their services through BisaDoc. The medical advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, and treatment decisions are made solely by the doctors, not by BisaDoc.

2. Eligibility

To use BisaDoc, you must be at least 16 years old. If you are between 16 and 18, you should have parental or guardian consent. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet these age requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
• You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their express permission.
• BisaDoc reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. The AI Symptom Checker — Important Limitations

• AI-generated responses are informational only and should not be acted upon as medical advice.
• The AI may not be aware of your full medical history, allergies, or current medications unless you have entered them in your medical profile.
• Never delay seeking emergency medical care because of information provided by the BisaDoc AI.
• If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call Ghana Emergency Services (193) immediately.
• BisaDoc is not liable for any actions taken based solely on AI-generated content.

6. Medical Records

• Your medical records on BisaDoc are patient-controlled. You decide what to enter, what to upload, and what to share.
• Doctors can only access your medical records during an active appointment window (on the day of a confirmed appointment, during a consultation, or within 24 hours of a completed appointment).
• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter in your medical profile. BisaDoc does not verify the medical accuracy of patient-entered data.
• BisaDoc stores medical files in an encrypted, private storage system. Files are never publicly accessible.
• You can delete your medical records at any time from your dashboard, subject to legally required retention periods for prescriptions and access logs.

7. Payments

• Consultation fees are set by individual doctors and displayed on their profiles in Ghana Cedis (GH₵).
• Online payments are processed securely by Paystack. BisaDoc does not store your card details.
• For "Pay at Clinic" appointments, payment is made directly to the healthcare provider at the time of your visit.
• Refund policies for paid online appointments are subject to the individual doctor's cancellation policy. Contact legal@bisadoc.com if you have a dispute.
• BisaDoc may charge a platform service fee in the future. We will notify users in advance of any fee changes.

8. Terms for Registered Doctors

By registering as a doctor on BisaDoc, you agree that:

• You hold a valid medical licence to practise in Ghana (or the jurisdiction where you practise).
• You will only access patient medical records when you have an active appointment with that patient, as enforced by the platform.
• All medical advice, diagnoses, and prescriptions you issue through BisaDoc are your sole professional responsibility.
• You will maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Ghana's Medical and Dental Act and applicable professional codes.
• You will not share patient data accessed through BisaDoc with any third party outside the care of that patient.
• BisaDoc reserves the right to suspend doctor accounts that receive consistent negative patient feedback or that violate these Terms.
• You consent to your name, specialty, hospital, consultation fee, and profile photo being displayed publicly on the BisaDoc platform.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use BisaDoc for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws in Ghana or internationally.
• Attempt to access another user's account or medical records without authorisation.
• Provide false information when registering or booking appointments.
• Abuse or harass doctors, patients, or BisaDoc staff through the platform.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform.
• Upload malicious files, malware, or content that could harm other users.
• Use the AI symptom checker to generate content for purposes other than genuine personal health assessment.
• Impersonate a licensed healthcare professional if you are not one.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the BisaDoc platform — including the design, logo, code, AI system, and written content — is owned by BisaDoc and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

Your personal data and medical records remain yours. BisaDoc claims no ownership over the information you enter into your medical profile or the files you upload.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of BisaDoc shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

Before initiating any legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at legal@bisadoc.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BisaDoc after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
